Marcos Della Rocha

Marcos Della Rocha (1986) is a Brazilian drummer born in São Paulo. Marcos started playing the drums and afro-Brazilian percussion at age of 10. While a freshman in classic percussion at UNICAMP state university, his interest for jazz and improvised music started to grow.

After graduating in 2010, he focused even more at the drums and brazilian percussion, working so in several projects such as Orquestra HB, Alexei e a Banda Toda, Trio Tarrason, Banda Montuno, Tambaleio, among others.

Between 2015 and 2019, Marcos studied at  KASK Conservatory in Gent, Belgium. Under the orientation of Toon Van Dionant, Arnoud Gerritse and Lander Gyselink he obtained a Master Degree in jazz drums performance. 

 

Now based in Gent/Belgium, Marcos is active in a wide range of musical projects, performing with MANDELAY PROJECT, Laughing Bastards, Bossa Flor, Napra Caa, Le Petit Cons (Bart Maris), Kolonel Djafaar and his own quartet, Hosha.
