

Fernando de Almeida Barros
Fernando is the musical director of the ensemble as well as arranger, composer, singer, bassist and guitarist.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, he began his musical journey at the age of eleven as an amateur musician and, by the age of fifteen, had already won first prize for composition at the Student Music Festival of São José do Rio Preto.
He later studied Composition and Musical Direction at the University of São Paulo. In 2013, he joined the sextet BOSSA FLOR, for whom he composed and arranged three albums.
Since 2017, he has directed the music education project Les Couroumîms – Une Aventure Amazonienne. He also composed the soundtrack for the television series Snowboarding in Iran, which received the Bronze Documentary Award at the New York Festival of TV & Film in 2020.
He lives in Brussels.
